Paul Weiss

Paul is a highly experienced professional and entrepreneur in healthcare practice specializing in project management; business transformation; strategic planning; engagement and project management; information system decision, deployment and implementation; leadership training; strategic sourcing; and OR inventory optimization. Paul has over thirty years experience in healthcare supply chain management spanning both Community and Academic Healthcare organizations in both union and non-union environments. His experience includes executive leadership, departmental leadership, business development and consulting services after completing twenty years of direct experience in a provider setting. He has excelled in formulating and delivering process redesign in clinics, hospitals, healthcare information technology, supply chain informatics and supply chain expense management. An effective project leader Paul is described as having a passion for process optimization, team development and service excellence with a focus on delivering an outstanding service experience to Health System clients.

Having the proven ability to assess service delivery and processes, Paul has implemented system improvement strategies that have resulted in significant cost savings. He is well regarded for his ability to identify and drive organizational change at all levels. In his role as project executive, Paul consistently meets and exceeds client expectations for deliverables, budget compliance and timeliness.

His accomplishments include the planning, development, management, logistical integration and inventory optimization of an integrated support infrastructure that services the largest IDN’s in New Jersey, Georgia and North Carolina. He has successfully led a Supply Chain Redesign initiative that leveraged technology while changing organizational structure, streamlining processes, and skill-mixing positions. This project involved in excess of 100 staff members that redesigned Purchasing, Inventory Control, Receiving, Distribution, Transportation Network, Surgical Services, A/P, CSS, WMS and Asset/Equipment Management.

Having held Senior Level positions for Support Services/Logistics Management; Paul has worked closely with executive leadership to develop strategic plans for Support Services that are consistent with the mission/vision and strategic and operating initiatives of the organization.

Paul has been responsible for the planning and design of large integrated shared service centers along with performance improvement initiatives in existing centers. He has coordinated the successful relocation of a service center with no service disruption. He has designed and installed integrated ASR systems and goods-to-person technology that increased production and through-put by as much as 300% while reducing picking errors and increasing customer satisfaction. He has also led the successful implementation of fully integrated ERP and WMS systems.

Paul is currently a member of the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). Paul has presented and participates in industry education sessions on supply chain optimization strategies. He often collaborates with healthcare leadership in support of enhancing warehouse/distribution management, demand management and transportation network systems’ functionality within the healthcare supply chain.
